The Jordanian suicide bomber who killed seven CIA officers in Afghanistan claimed in a video made before he died that he only intended to kidnap a Jordanian intelligence officer, before he stumbled on an unexpected opportunity to attack a large group of Americans.

"It wasn't planned this way," Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi said in the undated video released by al-Qa'ida's media arm as-Sahab Sunday.

Balawi in the video attributed "the stupidity of Jordanian intelligence and the stupidity of American intelligence" services for inviting him to Afghanistan to help set up a strike against al-Qaeda targets.

"They tried to entice me with money and offered me amounts reaching into the millions of dollars," said Balawi.

The double-agent initially planned to capture or kill his Jordanian handler, who he was luring with videos and coordinates of Taliban and al-Qaeda positions.
